© 2009-2010 Armando Salas --- San Andrés de Teixido is a very small village stucked in the mountains (Sierra Capelada). Just a bunch of houses. Landscapes are gorgeous and the visitors can enjoy forests, wild horses living in freedom, abrupt cliffs and the huge sea (confluence of Atlantic Ocean and Cantabrian Sea). Old women sell souvenirs to tourists and also delicious anise doughnuts and these talismans (a kind of "hamsa", Trixi :-). These handpainted talismans are made of flour, water and salt. Different shapes, different purposes: good luck, health, etc. --- Upper image: talismans. Bottom image: San Andrés de Teixido and its chapel (1789).---Youtube: GALICIA, TERRA DE MEIGAS ( =GALICIA, WITCHES' LAND :-) and recipe for ROSQUILLAS DE ANIS --- Have a wonderful and magical weekend. Feliz fin de semana. Sabbath Shalom.
