I wanted to draw the nurse in a teenage manga style, so I choose a stylish and somewhat crazy nurse costume like popular on cosplay and the drawing style of Arina Tanemura. Unfortunately, I didn't entirely meet her style (maybe due to using coloured pencils, Arina Tanemura paints with coloured Indian ink or watercolour what looks differently).
I like her pose, the red trims and the funny medical bag. ^^ It wasn't a good idea to paint the light blue stripes on such a smooth paper with Indian ink. u_u;; If the lines won't be drawn constant in exactly the same tempo, they will become darker where I remain a little bit longer on the same spot like at the lines ends for example. Fortunately, it isn't that noticeable in the end.^^
„50 MANGA BABES to draw and paint“ is an English How-to-draw book displaying fifty artworks of different women in manga style along with step-by-step illustrations, detailed descriptions and drawing tips.
I got the wonderful commission to draw fifteen of these "babes" (have a look at the right column).
I had to meet following criteria: drawn in manga style, female character, view of the whole body, related to a topic/character type, no background.
This book is great and I can recommend it to all who learns to draw in manga style.
