A fine specimen, this Striped Whipsnake has come out to shake off winters chill and soak up the heat of the sun, wisely, he keeps a sharp eye out for possible dangers that could surround him. Copyright (c) Vicki K. Pelham

No crop needed and the shot is awesome! I don't get to see to much of this since I don't get out much on account of my vision so I kind of get stuck in computer screen digital mode. And by the way... nothing fits right after a six pack :)

Artist Reply: lol..... six pack will do it :) More of my time is spent with the computer screen these days also. I enjoy those rare moments when a photograph is just sitting there waiting for me to take it. This guy surprised me when I was running out to my car, without camera in hand. He was kind enough to wait for me to go grab a camera and held the pose for me to take his/her portrait, a lucky moment. I have to admit this is a cell phone capture. I feel like I desperately need a date with my REAL camera (Although I do choose my cell phones for the camera capabilities). Thank you :)

Great shot, Vicki! The shadow makes it more interesting.

Artist Reply: Thank you so much Zofia!!! I agree, I think the shadow is what really completes this capture.

Shadow doesn't fit the snake ~

Artist Reply: Lol...... this was his very own shadow, maybe a bit broken over the rocky ground that looks odd to you. Also no crop on the photo. :)

I love the cute little non poison ones like this little guy,

NEAT SHOT VICKI. HE LOOKS LIKE A GARDER SNAKE

Artist Reply: Thank you Joanie! To me also, I've called these guys Garder Snakes. I think they are very similar, in this case I'm quoting a friend of mine in calling it a Whipsnake. In looking them both up, I can say this one did look like it fit the Whipsnake category well.
