19" x 13" oval. Sir William Wallace, legend of Scotland. Since no photos were available of the real person, I used Mel Gibson from his wonderful portrayal of Wallace from the movie Braveheart. Hand sketched then inlaid with semiprecious gemstones and ancient marble. Entered into the Legends in Stone Mosaic Art Gallery.

Artist Reply: I'm really enjoying your comments, Joanie. Thank you so much for your interest in my work. The bearded face on Sir William was really difficult to inlay, but it worked out just fine. Had to use marble from a contact zone of three different minerals to get the desired effect.
