This 29"x41" Watercolor shows what I think is America's It pre-eminent public Market. Aside from the many flower stalls that are found where every other type of food that is known to man can be, but its location on Puget sound provides so many interesting vantage points and sites of interest at this landmark that I did three different studies and took forever to decide which to do. In researching this work I noticed that many of the pick up and panel trucks in the 30' and 40's had custom paint schemes. So I used the color combinations that I found in my research as a counter point to the flowers. The thing that I enjoyed as they took form were the way the trucks with their gracefully curved fenders looked like Easter Eggs that were hidden among the flowers in a giant Easter Egg hunt.
