The Persistence of Evil

The moment of naked horror was palpable and forever frozen within the confines of my mind and soul in an unbelievable surreal landscape of terror and utter devastation. Yet, even in the midst of this horrendous spectacle the "persistence of good" outweighed the "persistence of evil". The selfless sacrifice of the brave individuals who responded to this terror bore witness to untold courage, valor and love that human beings are capable of when tragedy strikes. The "better angels of men" rose to surmount this Everest of evil and to reveal to all the unbridled love that humankind has at it's core. This connection to each other runs deep within the DNA that courses through the veins of all of us. Brothers and sisters are we. Together we move forward or backward. The choice remains ours to decide. visionary imagist "Joey"

Joey, this is still a message of hope. Accepting that there is evil in the world (the hands and the "evil eye" of the devil) and still trusting that God will reach out for us. The growing plants that I see on this very beautiful painting is an element of hope for the future too.

Artist Reply: Gabrielle: You have truly understood the meaning of this piece. I am deeply appreciative of your words and insights. Thank you for your precious comments!

Wonderful work Joey...both, as always your words and your painting touch my soul. When this happened for me the only way to go on was to focus on the good that came from it. Not that I ever ignored what was done to those people that died that day but my heart had to think about the good things in order for me to function...not the hate. In my mind and my thinking it would turn me into someone no better than they in the end if that makes sense.

Artist Reply: Laurie: Your words make all the sense in the world to me. That is why I do so look forward to your insights and of course your precious art as well. Thanks for being you and sharing a bit of yourself with me. Again thanks!!

Brothers and sisters are we. Together we move forward or backward. The choice remains ours to decide, great words I agree. Let's search only for the postive and bring no energy anymore on the black side of life than we will raise us up to the higher god in us. The dark will fight against it's self if we leave them as they are. Special painting again Joey of life of 2 sides. Lets only see the One Positive!

Artist Reply: Annette: Thank you sharing your caring and profound words with me. I do so appreciate your input and always look forward to seeing your name and your precious artwork.
