The moment of naked horror was palpable and forever frozen within the confines of my mind and soul in an unbelievable surreal landscape of terror and utter devastation. Yet, even in the midst of this horrendous spectacle the "persistence of good" outweighed the "persistence of evil". The selfless sacrifice of the brave individuals who responded to this terror bore witness to untold courage, valor and love that human beings are capable of when tragedy strikes. The "better angels of men" rose to surmount this Everest of evil and to reveal to all the unbridled love that humankind has at it's core. This connection to each other runs deep within the DNA that courses through the veins of all of us. Brothers and sisters are we. Together we move forward or backward.
