Trinity

Numbers have influenced humankind from the very beginnings of civilization and culture. From a time long ago forgotten when some ancient ancestor of ours used his fingers to describe how many Mammoths there were nearby. To our modern day mathematicians and physicists computing the enormity of our universe. Numbers have always been a part of our lives. One such number that has ascended to celestial heights is the integer "three". It's towering span of importance has stretched throughout history from the Triad of Abydos, through the mysteries of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and up to and including modern times when the first atomic explosion was nicknamed Trinity. Oppenheimer, the father of the first atomic bomb, when asked to describe this tremendous explosive moment referred to an ancient Hindu text, the Bhagavad Gita. A book about one of the "three" central figures of Hinduism. So the number "three" has held enormous sway throughout history. I wished, in some small way, to give homage to this meaningful little number. So with paint, brushes and canvas, the "three" items needed to fulfill my task, I have attempted to pay tribute to a number. There are probably not too many paintings done for one specific number but I thought it would be fun to do so. visionary imagist "Joey"

Joey, indeed, 3 is a holy number in all the times and cultures just like 7, another uneven number but even so magical. I think also of the three Fates, who made in the folklore and old myths such important decisons about life and death for humankind. A beautiful realisation of the symbols of a number.

Artist Reply: Gabrielle; I am glad that you enjoyed my writing and painting on this little number that has a big history. thanks again.

Joey : it's a beautiful and highly thoughtful abstract. The world too is also one 3 Dimensional system. I love the use of one point perspective, it tells me of the fact that lies from the very origin of the world !! and the tangles defining to other systems !! Wonderful painting !!

Artist Reply: Mahesh: Your insightful comments are always appreciated. I look forward to seeing your new works as well. Take care my creative friend.

I love the colors in the background. Those criss crossing threads are very intriguing. I think you capture the complexity of the three partitions of faith or self or spirituality. They are all coming together and simultaneously going away from the center. Infinity.

Artist Reply: John: Your words mimic mine. I did attempt through oil paint to do as you said. thank for noticing.

Great difference between the controlled freedom of the framing,Joey to the very structured geometrical concrete shapes...Difference of shapes and colours...Perhaps like the use of Numbers as part of our world.Splendid UNIQUE abstract.

Artist Reply: Nira: I am glad that you enjoyed my little oil painting on a number. Thanks as always for your continued support.
