First the Tech-Stuff – - – Canon G11 – wide-angle lens – portable lights – some PhotoShop and other workflow tools – a T-Bird – a willing model – some folks to do the grunt-work and a very large reticulated lorry – none of which was irreparably damaged in the making of this image ~:0) I may be letting the cat out of the bag – so to speak – when I divulge that all young men and most older men have a singular fantasy when driving – especially at night. I call it the “PullerOverRover” phenomenon. Basically it goes something like this. The gentleman is driving along – probably whistling a happy tune – when there on the side of the road ahead – a stalled 58 T-Bird with a lovely sheila leaning on the side is spied ~:0) Four to Five Thousand scenarios run through the normally sluggish brain of the warming good samaritan. At three-hundred yards (that’s 41 million metric tonnes for the Metric-Crowd out there) the man begins to formulate an evening of gratitude in Vegas – not saying who the grateful one would be – Ha! – - – Then two-hundred yards (that’s 97 hectares in case you’ve forgotten) the man pictures himself as Superman – sans cape – lifting the car and the sheila into the air and flying them off to the Fortress of Dude-idiocy for some supper – - – At a hundred yards (remember metric fans that’s just above freezing) he mashes down on the accelerator b/c “Ma-Ma” has got his sausages waiting for him at home and it’s been awhile (nine years – that’s approximately 4mm in metrics) since he’s been to the gym – and besides women who drive vintage American sports-cars have burley boy-friends likely hiding inside the car waiting to bust-up anyone foolish enough to stop to render aid! So there you have it ladies! The very thing that you worry about waiting at home for the old-man whilst he’s driving home from the club late at night – Ha! Maybe there was a time – and naturally there are some men who might – when one would stop on a lonely road to pitch-in but in today’s litigious society – not bloody likely – go make pictures! ~:0) VivaChas!
