hi,
not sure what to say really....I hate "artists' statements"- far too pompous, and tediously long!
Tell it how it is I suppose... I have always been creative, either drawing, painting, photographing everything possible, making jewellery or dolls clothes etc, since I can remember.
I carried my art on to A-level at school, and loved my teacher because she left me to my own devices- not necessarily a good thing...I learnt nothing useful there about the basics.
Over the years I've had periods of using different media, and tried desperately to get reasonable at fantasy work-but I just can't do it! No imagination left, and never enough skill...
My creative urges bounce between photography, digital art, more traditional art, and my chainmail/ jewellery making. I am a self-confessed fidget, and cannot settle myself into one medium...is that so wrong?
I decided, after lots of pushing and chastising from friends and family, to "make the most of my skills", and sell my work- both art and jewellery etc. So I'm now on yr2 into a BAHons, and just setting up a gallery with some friends, with the aim of putting our little rundown town on the map!
I love sites like this, you always feel so at home, and the artwork is as stunning as any gallery show! I've rambled...can I stop now, please?
I hope you enjoy my work, I am always happy to consider commissions, All the best, Sharon
