There really is a spooky atmosphere on this beautiful image. The scary eyes on the detail picture are awesome too. I see a mysterious landscape with a light green path winding around the mountain towards the horizon. Some figures are walking over it. It looks like they are stopped by someone with a staff. I wonder where the path is leading to and who this guard is? I love the moonlight, which makes these exciting colours! The shadows are so beautiful, they bring a great depth. Bruce, this is a painting to remember, how wonderful it must be to see in real, hanging on the wall.
Artist Reply: Dear Anneke, Thank you for the kind and encouraging words. It's nice for someone to wonder where a painting of mine is. I do that often about my own paintings, wondering which floppy pile one might be in if I want to do something with it. Ah, but your inspiring and imaginative comments always nudge me to look again, and one may already be lost waiting to be discovered by accident! Peace, etc., Bruce
Thank you, Bruce, I really like this one...also this format gave me a chance to go back and review so many of your lovely paintings. Quiet halloween this year, not many kids. SIGH!

Artist Reply: Dear Joan! Thank you for your very kind words about the present and past! So nice to hear from you. I didn't have ANY trick-or-treaters, and I might say "how nice!" Except that would not be very kind, to children in general, though fact none live around where I live now. AND I get to eat the candy I bought just in case! Peace, etc., Bruce

Lovely piece of artwork.
Artist Reply: My great thanks and good wishes to all the anonymous people in the whole world -- especially for being able to spell it! (Probably my Mother looked it up in the dictionary, being too shy or something to use her real name (although I will tell you if you can keep a secret! It's "Ms Combs!). Peace, etc., Bruce
