Tjörnin Reykjavík ! Tjörnin ( the Pond ) is a small lake in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. it is situated in the city center next to the Reykjavik City Hall and several museums. Tjörnin is a favorite spot for bringing young children to see and feed the ducks, seagulls, swans and geese that reside there. During the winter, the lake usually freezes over but hot geothermal waters is pumped in to defrost an area for the birds. The old church,which you see there is the oldest church in Iceland.
