a generalization of an Royal air force ww2 bomber crew preparing for a night raid. whether they were one of the 13% to survive a tour of 30 operations, or whether they became 7 names on the board in the morning with 'failed to return' next to them....thats up to the imagination of anyone seeing this painting.
