I visited my favorite duck pond at Baker Park in Frederick, Maryland. I used to live nearby and go there often with family. I had to go when I was visiting family this summer on my travels. It brought back many memoeries, such as me waddling like a duck when very heavy with child and my teen age sister laughing at me and calling me "Momma Duck." She claimed the were calling my name as we walked to the park. Brat! LOL! So I enjoyed my stroll, without waddling now. I spotted this mother duck resting, but keeping close eye over her lone duckling. She had a late year hatchling. All the other ducklings were far larger than this little one. It was a charming scene to find. The ducks stay here all year, even in the winter. There will be no problem for this late born baby, so I was glad there won't be a problem for it to migrate in the fall. It was a sweet and charming scene to view and I was glad I was able to return again to the duck pond of many family memories.
