"Dick Gregory," c.2003, is a mixed media piece...acrylic paint on found rock. It is a portrait of one of the most controversial men in American history! Arrested numerous times over the years for protesting against social, political and economic injustice in America, Mr. Gregory is the "voice in the wilderness." I had the distinct honor of driving him from the airport to my college in 1973 to speak to our student body, professors and the public on many social issues facing our nation at that time! He lives as a gentleman, scholar, activist, comedian and friend of the poor. Plus, this comedian, activist, 82 years young was very nice to me and treated me like one of God's precious children.
