Halcyon - a beautiful word meaning peace, calm, tranquility - also a mythological bird born into water - delicate blue - I thought it was a suitable title for this calming painting of a mermaid floating in a tranquil pond - tying water and sky with descending butterflies. It debuted at Dragon*Con 2011, but was snapped up by Pop Gallery in Downtown Disney West Side® in Walt Disney World Resort® here in Florida - you can see the original there now, as well as the Limited Edition Hand Embellished Gallery Canvases which are EXCLUSIVE to the gallery!
