A Place in the Sun

In Zion Canyon, this ancient rock split by weather and tree roots, shines in its glimpse of the midday sun. A pinion pine holds on for dear life as its roots loosely grab onto the rocky crevasse. The layers of color glazes over a well established base of oils and cold wax gave the rock and the canyon walls their authentic colors... Mixed media on canvas. 35.6 cm x 45.7 cm. 2010
