Artist comment: "I am continually amazed at the creativity and complexity of the kites that keep appearing at local and international kite festivals. In this oil painting on Windsor-Newton canvas, I have chosen to depict one of the most interesting of this year's offerings. A grey, blue and black dragon is complimented by the lime green drogue. After rendering the sky with loose impressionistic brush strokes, I began the details starting with the tail and finishing with the dragon's eyes and teeth. It was a thoroughly delightful challenge!"
