Collagraph Prints 'Seething frondiferous monsters and clownish hispid pines.' Print plate. 220mm x 150mm Sponge, string, twigs, leaves and paste on card two ink ups and three prints taken I made for my poem SCRUMPING a plate card (Collage relief) 220mm x 150mm. I pasted onto the card bits of sponge, string, twigs and leaves. After leaving the glue to dry for a while I coated an acrylic medium to seal and protect the various materials. I painted and dabbed coloured inks on to the textured surface of the card plate, then smeared off the excess ink to avoid too much smudging. I made sure there was enough ink to be pushed into deep groves and crevices’ of the texture surface, making sure there would be no empty areas of ink in the final result of making the Collagraph print. I used a flat bed intaglio printing press to make the collagraph prints.
