Shinjuku Angel

Shinjuku Angel - I went to Japan a few months back (had a FANTASTIC time) - and was struck by the hyper urban style and energy of Tokyo. We had a great night out in Shinjuku which is a crazy nightspot by the busiest trainstation in the world. This inspired this painting - "Shinjuku Angel" - I've always thought that urban faeries and angels would hang out around the human crossroads of trainstations. This was fun to paint - all that neon! Shinjuku Angel looks a little overwhelmed, a little lost - but dressed to the hilt and with a great attitude - reflections of Shinjuku itself. Made from my own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
