Psychopomps

A fairy, with angel wings, and dressed in purple stars, sits before a waterfall. Her sparrow friends gather around her; all is well in the forest. "Psychopomp" is a Greek word meaning "guide of souls" - I first learned this word from Stephen King's novel "The Dark Half". Sparrows, specifically, have been viewed as psychopomps, along with horses, dogs, and ravens. This is an original 5" x 7" illustration, created in archival inks and acrylic paints on bristol.
