I've always thought it was so I painted and posted today. Do you think male form art is marketable? http://www.artwanted.com/imageview.cfm?id=894442

It's been a long time since I've been on the boards is anyone still hanging around that I use to talk to?

Clare

Hi Clare........ I'm still around, but have been out of town, etc.

Nice work. I love painting the male figure but haven't done so in some time. Would love to get back to that.

When I saw that yesterday, the first thing I thought was Patrick Swayze from the movie RoadHouse, during one of the final fight scenes

Clare,

How dare you ask such a thing?! LOL...of course the male figure is art! Your rendition is superb!! The water and physique definitely puts it in the top 3 of your posted work! If tastefully and gracefully done it can convey the masculine beauty and strength of a man. I think the male figure is overlooked due to our bias feminine beauty in society. Since men are considered handsome and women pretty, may be that has something to do with it. I personally love them both...but, since I am a man and love God's most beautiful gift...I tend to paint more women...but I have men items to!

Well the debates were intense and varied and some gentle people complained.. instead of just going to another topic.. it was a lot of name calling and not pretty... I enjoyed the debate - artists are passionate people once their voice was censored it lost it's fire...

I wasn't here for that first "censorship" blowout but I read some posts from the past a while ago to get a clue. I donno if you can still access those posts though? AW deleted many threads. Yes, it was a passionate wild bunch. And the gentle people ended up being not so gentle for what I read.

I however was here for other blowouts that shut the forums a couple of times. I think everyone was complaining (including me) and pointing fingers at each other and well, we all threw :::s h i t o l a::: at the fan at many points. Many packed and left and never came back. Others got banned and once in a while find illegal ways to come back for what they deem an act of "revenge" at AW; others sneak back-in with fake personas for whatever the agenda or the reason (you know who you are) and others get fed-up at the lack of management on AW's part and delete their portfolios & forum posts and later come back (I've done it a couple of times). It has been an interesting place nevertheless. This place has brought the best and worst of human nature.

Yes, it looks like the horse finally died from all the beatings and the blame resides in each and everyone. I do miss some of the old members. Oh well.
