Born and raised in France, I, Janine Stern comes from a family of artists who have received many awards and recognitions in painting, architecture by upgrading “old castles and mansions” to offer modern design and comforts while keeping the integrity of the historical structures. Only recently did I recognize my own artistic talent and dedicated my spare time to artistic endeavors.
I immigrated to the United States from France in my twenties and spent the next thirty years as a data processing professional manager and became a business executive for a large financial corporation. I then created my own management consulting firm: “Penser, Ltd.” where for the next 7 years, I offered my expertise to such corporations as IBM, Citicorp, Reuters, American Express, Pitney Bowes, United State Post Office among others.
In 2000, I moved to Remsenburg Long Island, located in New York, giving up my business career to dedicate myself to many artistic endeavors as well as benevolent activities. I joined the Long Island Institute of Fine Art where, under the direction of Robert Armetta, and applied my experience toward creating oil painting of still life paintings, landscapes, historical landmarks and portraits. My dedication to the arts and my great sense of color resulted in an impressive number of works.
