Self Portrait

Philippe Herzog is a self-taught artist of digital art, from France, with a rare product. Influenced mostly by Kandinsky and the Bauhaus, he has, since 1993, produced computer art works to be viewed on the screen.

Until 2004 Philippe Herzog was a commercial manager in advertising and marketing. During the same period he developed with a passion his art in which he defines himself as a minimalist: he uses as a paint brush an integrated but modified graphic software to reproduce the animations and multimedia effects of his works.

From the early geometric figures to the series playing with contrasts and color inversions, then integrating sounds, snapshots and films inspired by his travels around the world or his areas of interest, his work is always evolving and self-sustaining.

Music also plays an important role in the work of Philippe Herzog. Some pieces or composers, famous or not, from Chopin to Billy Idol through Bollywood, give their name to some of Philippe's works. Sometimes these are initially directly conceived according to sound support. Definitely an artist to be discovered.
