"Rough Water". Original watercolor painting on paper c. by Marcia L. Wilson 2017. The rugged Oregon coast can be a challenge to wade or swim in at various times of the year. Surfers dodge everything from full-sized logs to the occasional great white shark out after seals. Walking the beach or climbing the "Haystack" can turn hazardous as well, although the locals put on a great sandcastle contest when the tide's out, usually in June. I used to guide horseback rides here as a summer job. Love Cannon Beach, OR! Just -- never turn your back on the ocean.
