Artist Reply: Thank you Claude. My goal is to have each piece better than the last (a secret though, if it doesn't make the grade I trash it and start over). I learn with every piece and do my best to pick good subjects. The subject (for me) gives me emotion that I try to transfer onto the easel. The subject therefore deserves most of the credit.
A wonderful portrait, and great pastel work! This dog looks so happy, as if he is ready to bark and go chase a ball imminently!
Artist Reply: Thank you Julie. He was such a delight it would have been hard for any artist to miss. I think the trick is picking good subjects - the problem is that all dogs and horses are good subjects - so many subjects, so little time! (smiles)
