My second wood batik attempt on the "marina" or harbor seascape as subject matter. I apply the batiking on wood process in order to achieve a very unique and unusual visual appearance of creating the image within the natural wood grains of the wood. Almost water color like as the image is ingrained in the pores of the wood surface. The wood panel I use here is Ash. For the very fine lines seen through out the boats/yachts I use a special black ink pen & afterwards the entire painting is sealed with various forms of finishings, in this case I used a matte polyurethane finish !
