How do you capture the feel of a winter evening when it's not snowing or foggy? With color of course! This image was created to capture the essence of a cold winter evening without taking the easy route by adding fog or snow. This one was quite the challenge, but I accomplished the goal by using lots of blue blended with light gray and subtle hints of tan and green. In addition the shrubbery on the botoom of the image was enhanced with maroon to convey the idea of living foliage in its winter phase. It almost makes me cold just looking at it. This image was created with oil pastel on 11" x 14" canvas board.
