This was a spur of the moment painting, so to speak. I was at a friend's house when I had the mentioned the basic idea to the boy's mother. So we coached him into getting their golden retriever to "beg" for a milkbone treat with the boy. I later added the kittens in the background to help complete the story and add to the sense of depth.
