Beneath Hope

I made a plaster paris face and body out of fabric strips and plaster paris.(sort of like paper mache) then attached it to the canvas adding more to wrap the canvas and give the impression that the person is coming out of or being held back by the canvas. Then painted in oil.

love this.,,, I saw something like this in a gallery I was in only not so well done..wonderful..if I had the room I would buy it!

Artist Reply: Thank you so much for your comments. I hadn't seen anything like this before, guess someone else out there thinks like me. It's not as large as it appears. It's only 22 x 28. If I make another, I may put it up for sale, but for now it's the only one and I like it too much. :) Thank you again.

As we discussed, it does give the feeling that someone is trapped in the canvas and trying to get out. Awesome & different work

So very unique and awesome, Lari! Wow!

Artist Reply: Thank you Sharon. Trying to get what's in the head out into a visual form, takes creativity. It took some time to figure out how I was going to do it. But it was fun and it's given more more ideas.
