One should strive to be unique while at the same time certain similarities with regard to morality and ethics should be shared by humanity as a whole. To be different while trying to inspire others to share similarities with me has been one of the paradoxes of my life, but yet it is a paradox that is vital to human existence. In order for differences to blossom and thrive some common ground must be shared. Absolute difference (meaning 0% in common) makes unity impossible. So the challenge is to share common ideals and beliefs that are necessary for the health of society while not succumbing to the threat of becoming a clone that emulates the majority. This work is an abstract self-portrait of myself. Difference & similarity unite in a strange dance of compromise.
