Wild Geranium

Wild Geranium is a medium, perennial herbaceous plant in the Geraniaceae family. Wild Geraniums are known by many names: Spotted Geranium, Wood Geranium, Wild Geranium, Spotted Cranesbill, Wild Cranesbill, Alum Root, Alum Bloom and Old Maid's Nightcap. Wild Geranium can be found here in South central Alaska growing in dry to moist areas, especially near water. This picture of a Wild Geranium was taken near Little Susitna River in Hatcher Pass.
