Colorado Storm

This is a watercolor study of a storm that is brewing over the planes heading towards the Rocky Mountains. In the scene Pikes Peak is in the background as the storm clouds come together for the upcoming rain. A small dirt road branches off to the left and right leading to distant homes. In this watercolor study I really like the way it turned down in so I may try to do this one in oil but for now I’m really having a blast just doing watercolors.
