This is my first attempt at traditional Indian art in the Madhubani (or Mithila) style. In this style, generally, no space is left empty; the gaps are filled by paintings of flowers, animals, birds, and geometric designs. I have seen some wonderful contemporary examples of this style, which look both traditional yet thoroughly modern.
