Alpine Goddess

This is an image of an Alpine Goddess from ancient times (Iron Age) with inspiration from the so-called La Téné- and Hallstatt-cultures of the area now known as Switzerland. The ancient Alpine populations called their goddess by the name of "Raetia" (at least, according to Greek and Roman authors), which also was the tribal name of the ancient population of Switzerland, who called themselves "Raetians".

Fandamntastic !!! Great to learn about such things . Thank you. Do the rabbits hold certain meaning? They are most wonderful !!

Artist Reply: Thank you, in abundance, for your great comment! The rabbits? Hmm, let us say that they may be interpreted on many different levels of perception...maybe according to one's individual views, as well as in a polyvalent manner, a s o (sky is the limit)! By the way, the rabbits appreciate your views about them and they fire away some high-fives your way!

This is stunning and supercolourful. I like the fact that there's rainbow in the middle. In fact this is the first time ever, I've heard about the Alpine Goddess Raetia. Keep up the good work. /Dana

Artist Reply: Wow, thanks for your superfly comment! Yeah, I also think that it isn't common knowledge to be in the know about Alpine mythology and/or deities, but I do believe it's a fascinating subject! Once again; thank you for your encouraging words, and wish you all the best!
