This very large painting was produced following a visit to a 'fossil fair', where so many fantastic specimens were displayed lined up next to one anther in little neat boxes. I was captivated by the sharp contast between the harshness of the manmade shapes and the soft organic spiral of the ammonites and nautilus. I wanted to produce a study different to the natural cluster seen in my Ammonite Mass Mortality series.
