"Full moon on the Hudson" 9x 12" watercolor on paper by Kirk Larsen. Created aboard "Airielle" of www.watercolorssailing.com, on a 3 day painting trip, by Coleman lantern. After a day in which we sailed up the Hudson, saw the tall-ship "Bounty", painted and dined on deck aboard the beautiful 46ft sailboat Airielle, we enjoyed a glass of wine played guitar and harmonica, sang songs and told stories as the moon rose. I realized the unique opportunity I had: The others went to sleep and I grabbed my watercolors and painted the moon over the river, by lantern light accompanied only by the gentle splashing of the waves on the hull. i did another the next night. This is going in my new show May 21-July 1
