Art is infectious (in a good way)

I was painting a mural today and this kid came up and was checking out my work. Soon another came, then another. After a bit a whole gaggle of kids were talking to me about drawing and painting. I enjoy writing and drawing for kids and it is my hope to inspire kids to draw and to be positive.

Does anyone else have experiences like this?

I'd just like to say hello, and I'm not new to AW but new to this group. I chose this group because I write children's Christian stories, and I'm thinking of designing my own children's book cover. The book is about an eleven year old colorless boy, an eight year old yellow skin girl, and a talking lioness in a science fiction genre. I'm in the rewrite process. I hope to have the book published by this Christmas. The name of the book is "The Magnificent Mission."

Hi everyone...I'm new to the groups section but I was excited to see a group on children's book illustrators! I'm really interested in this area and have ideas ready for illustration but haven't a clue where to start in the process of getting from idea to publication. Do you have any ideas for me as far as getting my foot in the door for something like this? It seems a little daunting to me, especially when you have no contacts or sponsors to give you a leg up....

Hey, folks! This was my first book...20 illustrations, 10 pages of manuscript. It's exciting, but the real world is harsh. Officially, I'm now everywhere on the internet, but most sites are all the same BS. Have any of you went through the submission process, intended to real Publishers? I am about undergo this process and heard it can be heart breaking....up to 6mths, just to hear something? Anyway, glad to join a form like like...art wanted is a great site!
