future of art

I've posted this topic long ago in 'art discussion' section, but noone gave me a decent answer except for Tony Murray, maybe.

So, my question is: what's the most 'avant-garde' painting today (if any), in other words, where art should move on??

I don't think it's abatraction, of course, because abstraction is already old-fashioned, being too serious in our century of post-modernism. Maybe some sort of surrealism? Smth funny?

Look, I'm not talking about "modern art" here! My question was: where art should go further?? Art of the future doesn't have to do anything with modern art! It can find rootes in the past.

Currently, the next ten years like everything else will be the past, the van gogh style, the monet, definitely the impressionistic era, etc. From lots of color to dark browns reflectiive still life's. Ten years is not long, but that's all I got!
