Illustrator or Photoshop !

Hi All.

I have been using Photoshop for some time, in-fact nearly 15 years, I have just recently just started to use Illustrator, I have to confess when I first started to dabble in this confusing software everything I seemed to do went wrong, this Software (illustrator) is not as easy to use as Photoshop, maybe I'm just being Biased, as I love photoshop, the amount of layers generated in each image is staggering, I'm serious ha ha ha, the last image I did of Myself (Mr Pogi) took along time, and it is still ongoing (look in my gallery to see it) blending and shading is nothing like in Photoshop.

When creating art in Illustrator you have to approach it from a different point of view, than you would in photoshop, and yes I do still see this software more of a technical exercise then an artistic one, but I have seen some fantastic things done in Illustrator, just take a look at Yukio Miyamoto work at http://www.khulsey.com/masters_yukio_miyamoto.html , its unbelievable that such detailed work is done in Illustrator, this guy is a master at it, and yes he does inspire me to be better at this software.

I want to know what other artist here think of Illustrator, do you use Illustrator or photoshop?, or like me, do you use both, I seem to be using more and more of Illustrator as I progress with my work, I will tell you this, In illustrator there is a tendency to overwork your image, adding detail can some times kill an image if it's not necessary.

All the very best from Keith.
