Gary Nylander has been passionate about photography when he first bought a $2.00 camera at a second hand store when he was 15 years of age. At age eighteen Nylander started a career as photojournalist but has also created a body work on his time off, black and white landscape images inspired by the natural wonders of Canada. Nylander uses traditional film-based large format view cameras from 4” x 5” to 8” x 10” to make his photographs and has been Influenced by many great photographers including Edward Weston and Ansel Adams. Nylander sees himself as a photographic version of the work done by Canada's Group of Seven, proudly photographing the Canadian wilderness with his own unique eye.
