My artists name is Mieke van Zundert, as I live in Zundert, as I had a project about Zundert, and because people know me as 'one of Zundert'. I am an expressionist with impressionistic view. About 10 years ago I deceided to leave journalism and become a professional painter. I followed several educations when I was younger. Zundert. where I live, is the birthtown of Van Gogh, and that makes that people compare my work with his. The last Van GoghYear 2003, we had in Zundert several projects around this artist. I worked seriously with his flowerthemes, but in my own style. Further I made an ironic serie of a male nude with a sunflowers, 8 paintings and a coffin project. Nowaday's I do a lot of plein air work, portraits of people. cow's and 'things'.
