IRIE

Irie is a word coined by the Rastafarian sect in Jamaica. It means 'OK', or 'good'. Food can taste 'irie'; one can feel 'irie'; or one can look 'irie'. In this painting the girl's dreadlocks looks good, which in Rastafarian terms means that with her dreadlocks she looks great! sexy! wonderful! and just really good! Needless to say, Jamaicans and people from other cabibbean islands also had adopted the word "irie" and from time to time use it eloquently.
