"I've never met a medium I didn't like. I Have been drawing since I could hold a crayon and started painting at age seven. All these years later and I have worked in over 327 mediums, being most passionate about oil painting & stone carving.

I have been recognized awards for oils, acrylics, pen & Ink, stone carving, ice carving, caricature, abstracts, landscapes, seascapes, mixed media and photography (B&W and Color).

I truly love to go out and paint, as they say "en Plein Air" along the water or out in the country. I also love to paint very local scenes that I previously took for granted, such as my own street when the dogwoods bloom.

In order to support a greater color and stroke vocabulary for my on site paintings, I often relax and paint abstracts to music. With entire canvas' being rendered solely to one piece or album.

In the past few years I've been kayaking and racing on sailboats and it has afforded me a tremendous opportunity to race and on and paint boats in a whole new way. I end up working on these wonderful outdoor water scenes in my studio because the sailboats don't sit still for me on windy days.

I demonstrate for area groups in virtually any medium and subject from portraits to landscapes and pastel, watercolor, oils, clay... I teach privately and in workshops.

My creativity expands beyond art in that I also love to write short stories, scripts, essays and poetry. Kirk was nominated as Poet Laureate of Nassau County, NY, in 2015 and dubbed the unofficial poet-laureate of Oyster Bay. A working Film & TV actor with IMDb credits including Men In Black III and a forthcoming movie with Michael Jeremiah. Kirk has developed a teaching method that accelerates the learning process.

Feel free to write with any questions about the work, technique, demos, classes, sales, commissions... And please accept my extended best wishes for a great and creative day.
