Winter is not far away which means the return of many old and loved friends.... the Big Horn Sheep have begun to trikkle in....a beautiful Ram, charged with testerone for the rut, charged a passing Honda Civic killing himself and doing several thousand $$ damadge to the side of the car. as i caressed his coat and looked into his face, i realized he was a friend of many years whom i had photographed time and again ... i shall miss him here on earth!!!!!

the babies are here and all the raptor parents are 'wild'. my favorite animals today is a cute rabbit which lives on the forest flood directly below the nests of the Great Horned Owl & the Bald Eagle .....they always look out, never directly below them so the bunny happily goes about its daily tasks with no idea that death lives above her......

The Eagles and Owls are nesting with the ladies on their eggs and the males in attendance. A very exciting time of year here in Montana. Spring has not arrived with the weather varying between warm sun to snow to rain and back. The Sandhill Carnes are passing through as are the Canada Geese and other species.

The Big Horn Sheep are beginning rut. There is minimal snow but below zero temperatures which means there is ample food at lower elevations and the Sheep stay packed tight in the sun.
