Seems as if Fall is fast approaching! Here in the hills of the Appalachian mountains we have had much rain the past two days straight. The rivers are high and the leaves are turning fast. I expect cool weather to be upon us soon. Great conditions for drawing and lots of inspiration from the local landscape. I am drawing every day lately, some times two pieces per day. Even doing some painting, which I plan to do more of! I'm also woodworking and trying to get settled here in the new studio. Give me a shout here at AW or visit some of my other online places. You can start at www.naturalartbyjd.com and I'll post other urls there. Peace! ~ JD

Just posted a new charcoal drawing. Just another little bird. They are fun and easy to draw. I used this on on my Patreon channel for a lesson in charcoal drawing. https://www.patreon.com/user?u=78487574

Greetings Friends! I'm back in the art studio today and creating a video to kick off my new digs. I've been busy unpacking but I have made time to get down here and create some artwork for posting on Artwanted and other places. I dusted off my Vimeo account and I am trying to upload a new video. In the meantime here's an old one I did last year that showed the process of how I get a new drawing started.

Well I'm back! I have moved all my stuff. WOW, I can't believe how much stuff we had accumulated since we got married!! We got rid of a bunch and still had way too much. Took me forever to move it all. Yet I digress. My art studio is set up and I am creating again. It's good to be back. We moved from a big city in NC to a small town in North Georgia. Now we are up in the hills with only a handful of neighbors. Surrounded by deer and all sorts of wildlife including bears! This should be fun!!!

Time flies when you are busy! I've been packing up and preparing my house for sale. All my artwork and supplies are now in boxes and it may be a couple of months before I get moved and unpacked again. Looks like my art career is on hold for a while. I miss creating and posting here but I will be back! Peace ~ JD

Hey Friends! I did not realize I had not posted here in so long. Anyway, I was thinking about the future today and what it will be like when I retire (soon) from my full time business and make art my full time business instead. I have a passion for art and I don't look at it as a job or a way to make income and I hope that does not change when I start doing this to pay the bills. I don't want to do it for the money but for the love of the craft... What about you???

July fourth has come and gone for the year 2020. What a crazy year for us all! I've been busy creating all kinds of art this year and much of it is posted here on Artwanted.com. I have a few patriotic pieces of late and will post more later. I'm looking forward to fall for many reasons, One being cooler weather and the other is of course hoping the covid will become less and less of an issue. Finally, around mid October I always take a vacation north of Charlotte and usually somewhere cool and surrounded by fall colors! Peace ~ JD

Saturday! Woo Hoo!! Can't decide if I want to go riding or go working, hmmm. Either way I'll be drawing tonight I'm sure. I've been exploring the Artwanted website reading peoples bio's and checking out the art. Sometimes I can get lost doing that. It gives you and appreciation of what others are doing and how varied art can be. Enjoy your weekend! Peace ~ JD

Still sketching and drawing every day lately. Actually did an acrylic painting a few days back. I forgot how much fun that was. I'm praying this unrest in the nation will come to an end soon. Looks like it's gonna be awhile before we can get back to normal if there is such a thing. Wonder what tomorrow will bring? Peace ~ JD
