This colored pencil painting is based on a photograph that I took of an old house in Bishop Hill, Illinois, an historic Swedish community. I thought the house was very interesting and I wanted to use it as a background of sorts for pocket watches. I hope that you look long enough to find the watches in the composition. This piece is done on Dura-lar polyester film using Prismacolor Verithin colored pencils. It's dimensions are 8 inches X 10 inches. I like old houses and I like pocket watches, hence the title, "Time and Place". I hope that you find this piece pleasing.

You did a very good job. Even the geraniums take on a characteristic look.

Artist Reply: Charles: thank you so much for your generous comments. I enjoy detail and try to make all aspects of my work look as realistic as I can. I also like placing "ghost" images into the pieces, as I did with the old pocket watches in this case. I'm pleased that you find this piece to your liking. Have a great week. Best regards, Will

Well done Will ! and well titled ! This piece is certainly different. I had thought it to be a house in Italy.. or perhaps France.. Bravo !

Artist Reply: Judy: thanks for taking time to view my work. Your very nice comment is greatly appreciated. I do love old stone homes and old pocket watches. It seemed a natural to combine the two, hence the title of the piece. The pocket watches are "ghost" images of a sort. I enjoy making the viewer look beyond just the surface of my pieces. Have a great day. Best regards, Will
