Sometimes even the internal vision can clash with itself due largely to a conflict between what is perceived externally and felt internally. This is a 12 by 16 inch acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. Original Jones Art. This piece was chosen to hang in the Austin Visual Arts Association's 2016 Figurative Show in Austin, TX.

I find myself conflicted at times regarding some of my subject choices and as to what to include in the composition. I have never been able to simplify my work. It always appears that I have overthought my compositions or left so much out that it barely works.

Artist Reply: This central idea came from a page of one-minute (or less) sketches I'd put aside. When I found it again, I thought I'd keep it as simple as the sketch, though I did add the leg and the bent horizon line in process to suggest bent or distorted perception. But I do understand your quandary, Stanley. Do your friends call you 'Stan?' :)
