Nasser: The Perfect English Student

A portrait in acrylics of one the students in my english class. I was teaching English as a foreign languague for The British Council in Kuwait for 4 years at the time. EFL teaching is my profession and has been for over 20 years) Nasser wasn't just the perfect english student he was also very critical of his portrait. However, his father bought it for a ridiculous sum.

JUST GREAT AGAIN!! I HOPE THE RIDICULOUS SUM WAS HIGH AND NOT A RIDICULOUS LOW ONE!

Nasser has some of the self assuredness of the wealthy. The father sees his son, if somewhat imperfect, while the son searches for the perfection he has yet to attain, except perhaps in English. Is a ridiculous sum too much or too little? Just wondering.

Artist Reply: Actually David, it was too much!
