I could have just as easily titled this little drawing 'Feigning Interest.' I had occasion to come in contact with a medical doctor who feigned (faked?) interest in her patients. I think it better to show absolute neutrality than to put on an over the top act. A false appearance is only an effective mask for the easily deceived. Not all of us are---yet. This is a 6 by 4 inches drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Throw it onto the pile of Original Jones Art in case there's a shortage of kindling here in northwest Austin, Texas.

so much sadness in here... great hand!

Artist Reply: Well, sadness is like a good wine, it needs to age properly. I think I've beaten the 'sadness factor' displayed here a couple of times since the pandemic hit the global fan and sprayed us all. Anyway, I have to go with it or get off the bus and I'm not ready to motion to the driver just yet. :)
