The pox is defined as any of several viral diseases producing a rash of pimples that become pus-filled and leave pockmarks on healing. The two big ones, historically, are related to small pox and syphilis. I think the latter was called 'The Great Pox' though, when you read about the symptoms and what it ultimately leads to, I don't find anything too great about it. I was trying to design a new sculpture with lighted eyes and 'pimples' that would be made of a translucent material with LEDS inside. I thought it might make an interesting Halloween piece without being stereotypical. This is a 9 by 8 inches gel pen drawing on lightweight acid-free paper. It's just Original Jones Art trying to light up his own ideas here in northwest Austin, Texas.

I can see where this image could be viewed as a disease that left poc marks or a Halloween image. What an imagination you have!

Artist Reply: I wanted an image that could be easily converted to a 3D format, Ginger. I drew three quick variations that were quite small and then this larger one. Now I have to figure out how large I want the 3D version to be and how I can make it hollow and accessible enough to add lights. Thanks!
